Parking in downtown Eagle is a topic that comes up frequently, especially as more people are drawn to its restaurants, shops, and community events. While it’s true that parking near some destinations can be a challenge at certain times, many of the city’s designated public lots and street parking spaces often remain underused.

There seems to be a disconnect between perception and availability. Some visitors may not be aware of where the public lots are located, and signage could potentially be improved to make these areas easier to find. Street parking is also available in various areas, but it isn’t always clear which spaces are open to the public and which are reserved or time-limited.
Other small towns have worked around similar concerns by improving signage, making better use of shared or off-hours parking areas, and communicating clearly with the public about where parking options exist. Some even use temporary shuttles or designated overflow parking during major events.
As Eagle continues to grow, now may be a good time for the community to come together and take a closer look at what’s already available. Residents and visitors who regularly spend time downtown may be in the best position to share what’s working and where there may still be confusion.
If you know of a public parking lot or street-side area that’s underused or unclear, Eagle Magazine invites you to share your observations. Let’s build a better understanding together of where people can park—and how we can make the most of what we already have until we can designate more areas.
