Pronounced “Ooh-lah”—just like it sounds—Oola Bowls isn’t just another açaí stop. It’s a health-driven concept built on family, community, functional ingredients, and a genuine belief that what we put into our bodies matters. Now, for the first time, that passion is making its way to Idaho.

Founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Oola Bowls quickly built a loyal following throughout the East Coast. In 2025 alone, the brand entered multiple new regions, opening nine locations across states including Maine, Massachusetts, Georgia, and Florida. Idaho wasn’t initially on the roadmap, but a shared set of values, curiosity, and connection brought Oola west.
That’s exactly how Mike and Ashley, the franchise partners bringing Oola Bowls to the Treasure Valley, found themselves flying from Idaho to Pennsylvania to meet the founders.

“We instantly connected with the owners,” Mike shares. “They’re just genuinely good people. The way they’re growing the company—intentionally, thoughtfully—really stood out. They’ve already built relationships and supply chains that most brands don’t figure out until much later.”
With leadership experience that includes helping scale nationally recognized brands like Rita’s Italian Ice and Freddy’s Steakburgers, Oola brings deep operational expertise, without sacrificing heart.
Why Idaho? Why Now?
When Mike mentioned he lived in Idaho, the founders were intrigued. Oola Bowls had no locations anywhere near the Northwest or Rocky Mountain regions. However, after researching the area’s demographics, lifestyle trends, and growth patterns, the answer became clear.

“Idaho needs this,” Mike says. “You shouldn’t have to drive across town—or across the state—for something truly healthy. Antioxidant-rich food, real ingredients, clean fuel for your body—that should be accessible.”
Idaho’s active, family-oriented lifestyle made it the perfect place to plant a flag.
What Makes Oola Bowls Different
At the heart of Oola Bowls is healthier, better-for-you food. Many açaí bowls melt quickly or taste icy because they’re diluted with fillers, juices, and excess water. Oola bowls are different. They’re made with a significantly higher concentration of açaí pulp, resulting in a thicker, creamier base that holds its texture as well as its nutritional value.

The brand’s commitment goes all the way to the source. The founders traveled deep into Brazil, spending weeks researching, testing, and selecting the highest-quality acai available.
“They’re extremely picky about what they release to the public,” Mike explains. “If it’s not right, it doesn’t go out. That level of commitment to quality is really important to us.”
Built for Families, Athletes, and Everyday Life
Oola Bowls offers a thoughtfully curated menu designed to fuel a wide range of lifestyles, from busy families to athletes and anyone looking for a healthier option on the go. Their offerings include nutrient-dense bowls with different bases including açaí, pitaya, and coconut; blended beverages; dessert-style soft-serve açaí and pitaya; brews like coffee, tea, and lemonade; and wholesome snack options in the form of their Oola Bites.

For customers focused on wellness, Oola also offers Oola Zero—an option designed to support healthy goals. Made without added sugar and with fewer calories than traditional açaí bases, Oola Zero allows customers to enjoy the flavor, texture, and antioxidant benefits of açaí while better aligning with lifestyles centered around balance, fitness, or reduced sugar intake.
Both Treasure Valley locations will feature drive-thru service, making it easy for busy parents, students, and anyone on the go to grab something nourishing without slowing down.
A Legacy in Every Spoonful
One of the most meaningful elements of Oola Bowls is Grandma’s Granola—a house-made topping rooted in family tradition. When the company first started, one of the founders’ grandmothers made granola by hand in her kitchen with friends, mixing batches the old-fashioned way. That recipe lives on today, turning a simple topping into a legacy.
“It’s special,” Mike says. “That story carries through everything we do.”
A Family-Driven Why
For Mike and Ashley, this isn’t just business—it’s personal. Born and raised in Southern California and later living in South Florida, acai bowls were part of their daily rhythm. Their kids grew up on them. Health and wellness weren’t trends; they were a lifestyle.

Today, their household includes four kids attending Eagle schools, involved in wrestling, cheer, volleyball, fitness, and jiu-jitsu.
“Our kids are acai-obsessed,” Mike laughs. “But beyond that, our whole lifestyle revolves around health. We wanted to bring something to Idaho that we truly believe in.”
Mike also brings credibility from the wellness space as a partner in JUGO, a superfoods gummy company now launching nationwide in Whole Foods and Albertsons—further reinforcing his commitment to functional, accessible nutrition.
With Idaho’s active, family-oriented culture, the Oola fit felt natural.
Community First, Always
More than anything, Mike hopes Oola Bowls becomes a place of connection.
“I want people to walk in, see friendly faces, feel welcome—and leave knowing they just did something good for their body,” he says. “Community matters. That’s the Idaho way.”
Plans include school partnerships, youth sports sponsorships, and long-term outreach to help make healthy food more accessible for kids—especially students who often default to convenience-store meals.
Opening Soon
The Eagle-area location near Linder and Chinden is set to open on February 7, followed by a Fairview location near The Village on February 28. With seven locations planned across Idaho and additional expansion throughout the West, Oola Bowls is just getting started.
Idaho’s first Oola Bowls is more than a new restaurant—it’s a family passion, a health-forward mission, and a fresh, feel-good addition to our community.
