Meeting on Downtown Construction – January 23rd

Downtown Eagle Construction Underway: Connecting Aiken Street to Second Street and more

Exciting changes are coming to Downtown Eagle! Construction has officially begun on Aiken Street with the goal of creating a new connection from Eagle Road all the way through to Second Street. This project will not only enhance accessibility but also breathe new life into the area, which is home to Aikens Plaza, Wishing Well Botanicals, and Urban Casual Boutique. Both sides of the street will have sidewalks, trees, and additional designated parking.

Parking Tips for Shoppers on Aikens

For those shopping or visiting the businesses in this area, parking is still available! We recommend parking near Rice Asian Cuisine and taking advantage of the Bridgewalk to access the shops and surrounding destinations. Businesses in the area will remain open during construction, so your support is greatly appreciated.

    Aikens Next Phases

This phase of construction is expected to last approximately six weeks, barring any unforeseen delays. Once completed, the focus will shift to improving other parts of downtown Eagle, including Old Park Place, Plaza Drive, and Aikens. This 10-month long update will complement the ongoing renovation of Heritage Park, which will happen at the same time.

    Exciting Updates for Heritage Park

One of the most anticipated elements of the Heritage Park renovation is the addition of built-in concessions, complete with room for storage. The concession space will be awarded to a vendor, and it’s sure to become a central feature of the park. The revitalized Heritage Park will further enhance downtown Eagle’s appeal, offering a space for the community to gather and enjoy events.

    What’s Happening Next to Rembrandts?

While the updates to Heritage Park are underway, many are still wondering what will occupy the space next to Rembrandts on the corner. Will it become a beautiful sitting park or something else entirely? The community is abuzz with anticipation, and we’re sure whatever comes next will add even more charm to Downtown Eagle.

    Community Meeting for More Details

For those who want to learn more about the construction and upcoming projects, mark your calendars! There will be a community meeting at the new Residence Inn in Eagle on January 23rd at 4:00 PM. This is a great opportunity to hear updates, ask questions, and engage with city planners about the exciting future of downtown.

Eagle is growing and evolving, and these updates are just the beginning of what’s to come. Stay tuned for more progress updates, and don’t forget to support your local businesses during this exciting time of transformation!
