A Summer Escape to Root 16 Farm in Emmett
Just beyond the bustle of the Treasure Valley, a quieter rhythm awaits. A short, scenic drive from Eagle to Emmett leads you to a place where screens fade, conversations return, and time stretches a little longer—welcome to Root 16 Farm.
What began as an overgrown, forgotten property has transformed into something deeply meaningful.
“My family bought it in 2018… It basically has just been one big renovation project. We have about 63 acres, and we’re bringing it back to life.”
Today, that vision is very much a family effort. Root 16 Farm is run by all four members of Becca’s family—her mom, dad, older brother, and Becca herself—each playing a role in restoring the land and creating an unforgettable experience for the community.
From Forgotten Farm to Flourishing Flower Fields
That restoration took an unexpected—and beautiful—turn.
Originally, the family’s long-term goal was to restore the property as a working orchard. But along the way, Becca and her mom discovered a passion for growing flowers, and the farm naturally evolved into a seasonal you-pick flower destination.
Today, Root 16 Farm welcomes visitors from mid-summer through early fall. It’s a place designed to help people slow down and enjoy something that’s becoming increasingly rare: peace and quiet.
“It’s just kind of a nice little escape from the city and the busyness of life. Peaceful is the number one word that we hear from people.”
The Journey Is Part of the Experience
The experience begins long before guests step into the flower fields. The drive itself winds through the countryside before visitors cross a bridge that opens into the picturesque farm, nestled against the foothills.
Once guests arrive, they’re given a choice of bucket sizes and a pair of clippers before heading into rows of colorful blooms. They are free to wander the fields, selecting and cutting flowers to create a bouquet that is entirely their own.
There’s no rush. Families stroll together, friends chat among the flowers, and everyone is encouraged to take their time enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Stay Awhile
The experience doesn’t end with flowers.
Many visitors grab a soft-serve ice cream and relax at the picnic tables while taking in the scenery. Guests are also encouraged to bring a picnic and enjoy the farm for as long as they’d like.
It’s a refreshing reminder that some of the best summer memories come from simply slowing down.
A Labor of Love
The beauty visitors see today came with years of hard work.
The family removed more than 120 tons of concrete from the property, clearing away structures beyond repair before replacing them with thoughtfully designed sheds connected by a welcoming pergola. Every improvement reflects the care and intention poured into restoring the farm.
Looking Toward the Future
The family’s vision continues to grow. They still hope to restore the property into a thriving orchard, while continuing to expand berry patches, fall pumpkin offerings, and other seasonal experiences.
Life has also added another joyful milestone. Becca and her fiancé, Jake, will be getting married at the farm, making the property not only a family business but also the backdrop for one of life’s most meaningful celebrations.
A Hidden Gem Worth Discovering
Perhaps that’s the true magic of Root 16 Farm. It isn’t rushed. It’s layered, evolving, and deeply rooted in family, intention, and genuine connection.
Whether you’re planning a mother-daughter outing, a family adventure, a date, or simply looking for a peaceful afternoon away from the city, this hidden gem outside Emmett offers something wonderfully simple:
A chance to breathe, wander, and be present.
The farm opens to the public each July, with flower season continuing through early fall.
