Lash extensions and microblading are two popular trends in the beauty industry today. For women with busy schedules and the desire for a polished look, it can help you play up your best features with less fussing from day to day. Local studio The Doll Den in Eagle has been helping their clients achieve their lash dreams for two years.

Owner Rachel Masonheimer opened The Doll Den after becoming certified in the practice through Lash Affair by J Paris, and she says she hasn’t put her tweezers down since.

“I wasn’t a stranger to the world of lash extensions, as I had gotten them applied locally for about six months. I was paying almost as much as my car payment to have eyelashes and thought to myself, ‘I bet there are hundreds of women that would appreciate how lashes make you feel but probably can’t afford it.’”

Masonheimer opened The Doll Den to make this service more accessible to women of all walks of life – on their schedule. “I believe having flexibility to book appointment at my client’s convenience is very important to my success.”

Professional lash extensions are different than your store-bought lashes that are simply glued to your lash line. Semi-permanent extensions are meticulously hand-glued on top of your existing lashes, giving you a seamless and natural look. Properly cared for, the extensions can last for three to four weeks, and eventually fall out on their own like natural lashes. The Doll Den is a reseller of high-quality Lash Affair by J Paris products.

The Doll Den also offers microblading for the perfect eyebrow. Microblading is an extremely precise procedure that creates realistic and natural hair strokes. Regardless of the status of your brows – including those who survived the “thin eyebrow trend” of the 1990s – microblading can save you the time and effort of having to constantly shape your own brows every morning.

Masonheimer hopes to use her business success to encourage other women in the community. The Doll Den offers one day lash classes for women interested in a potential career change, or just to create an extra source of income. The classes include a complete lash kit, as well as support from Masonheimer and other artists at The Doll Den. For those already enrolled in a beauty program, The Doll Den offers opportunities to job shadow in the studio.

Masonheimer is planning to launch The Fumiko Fund scholarship program – named for her friend Danielle Fumiko DeVantier – in 2020. This fund is dedicated to providing lash classes to help women who have been victims of domestic violence.

The Doll Den is located at 194 W State Street in Eagle.
