Since I was a kid I’ve been strongly drawn towards water,”shares Jason Zawadzki, Owner/Shaper at Hydrus Board Tech, and Eagle resident. “My family and I have been surfing and paddle boarding for many years.”

“It has been my dream for many years to start an awesome lifestyle brand that portrays the passions I have and that many of my friends, family, neighbors and peers share as well. I know I am very blessed to be able to do this. My philosophy of life is to chase fulfillment.”

“As a small company in Eagle, ID we are making the strongest, lightweight, high performance surf and paddle boards in the world. Our Armalight coating sets our boards and our brand apart from the rest. We have designed our inflatable paddle boards to be the highest quality in the world, our CrossBoards are unique and we make snow surfers with Carbon Fiber stringers.” “A CrossBoard is sort of a paddle board on wheels,” explains Jason. “A bit like an oversized long board, the CrossBoard comes with a land paddle. It’s a great workout. It’s a cool feeling of surfing on land!” Hydrus Board Tech will introduce a clothing line in 2017 of unique and functional pieces made of proprietary fabric.

“I wouldn’t have been able to pull this off without huge support of my wife, Lindsay,” states Jason. Currently there are 4 people who work in production, and 3 people doing office, creative, administrative office work at Hydrus. Jason’s brother Nick, a mechanical genius, helped Jason and Lindsay launch Hydrus 4 years ago. Jason’s children inherited his attraction to the water and have paddled with him since they were infants, sitting between his legs. Now Caleb (9), Ian (7), and Peyton (4) all love to paddle on their own and are really good at it. “What I love most about paddle boarding is that it is something I can do with my family and it’s also a great workout.”

“I’ve been a craftsman with an eye for quality and a bit of an inventor my entire life,” states serial entrepreneur Jason. He worked for his dad’s construction company starting at the age of 7 where he pulled nails from concrete forms and nailed down shingles on roof tops. The entrepreneurial spirit is strong in Jason’s family. His sister Michelle owns Marie Lynn Floral and his brother Jeff owns The Grass Co. and Crossfit 2C.

“Be creative and don’t give up,” advises Jason to other entrepreneurs. Hydrus launched a crowdfunding campaign to expand their manufacturing facility at the Eagle Industrial Center and to bring Hydrus to national and international attention.

Jason and his team put lots of love and effort into creating and building their products. “It’s all about innovation, performance and quality our customers can trust. We really want people to love what we make and we want to make people happy with the things we build!”
