The Eagle Chamber of Commerce and the City of Eagle will be giving the local community another exciting event for the Fourth of July weekend! Taste Eagle will kick off the 2019 Eagle Fun Days event on Friday July 5th from 6pm to 11pm. The festivities will take place near Heritage Park off State Street.

Eagle Chamber Chairman of the Board Jason Lloyd shared more about the event in a recent interview: “We wanted to create an event that would be great for the community, and be able to promote local businesses and restaurants.”

Taste Eagle will feature several local restaurants – some established, and some new to the area. Event attendees will have the opportunity to explore samplings of food from each restaurant vendor. Each restaurant will compete for “People’s Choice” at the end of the event. To add to the foodie fun, attendees will also have the opportunity to try selections from local wineries, and shop from a variety of vendors.

The family-friendly event will also feature a community corn hole tournament, complete with prizes. Interested contestants will need to sign up prior to the event and pay a small fee. You can register for the tournament at eaglechamber.com. Winners from the Taste Eagle championship on Friday night will have the opportunity to compete against the city champion on Saturday at Eagle Fun Days.

Local favorite “Big Wow Band” will be on hand to provide live entertainment throughout the evening. The “Big Wow Band” is known for engaging shows, talented vocals, and a wide variety of toe-tapping cover songs ranging from Keith Urban to The Four Tops, and Steely Dan to Bruno Mars.

The chamber hopes that Taste Eagle and the entire Eagle Fun Days event, hosted by the City of Eagle, will demonstrate the small-town charm treasured by Eagle residents, and promote the local business community.

“That small town feel with some great local restaurants, the music is going to be fantastic. You get a lot of events in Boise and Meridian, but this will really focus on the uniqueness of Eagle and what it has to offer,” Lloyd explained.

Tickets for Taste Eagle is $20 per person, and includes a one-time tasting at each booth, and one beverage at the beer and wine garden. Attendees may purchase additional food and beverage at the vendor booths.

Eagle Fun Days will continue through July 6th with the Eagle Fun Run, Classic Car Show, and the Wet n’ Wild Parade. After the Eagle Fun Days festivities, stick around for the fireworks show, beginning at 10:07pm. The fireworks will be launched in downtown Eagle, but can be viewed in the surrounding areas.

Taste Eagle will take place at Heritage Park at 185 E. State Street in Eagle on Friday July 5th from 6pm to 9pm. Other Eagle Fun Day events will take place near downtown Eagle from the 5th to Saturday the 6th. Sponsorships are still available for the event, and vendors will be accepted until May 31.
