The Season of Giving
With the Eagle Chamber of Commerce
One thing that Eagle, Idaho has always known for sure, is that there is a strong sense of community in our growing area. These strange times of 2020 have only further proven this inherent truth: that we support one another. We pick each other up when we are down. We extend a hand when we are able. We shop locally and source nearby. We adapt to the changes and continue to do what is best, for not only ourselves but for everyone around us.
Jennifer Stutheit, Executive Director of the Eagle Chamber of Commerce, is proud to be a part of a community that is making continual strides toward support and generosity. “This year was filled with hurdles and hardships for all businesses. The Chamber was no different. We have worked diligently to maintain our modified operations in light of the financial impacts. We’re also experiencing temporary postponement and suspension of the Chamber’s revenue-generating events and programs. All the while adapting and innovating to keep our network together in the current atmosphere,” Jennifer shared with us.
“It’s truly awesome to see how businesses have banded together in Eagle to work to promote economic vitality and to protect our quality of life here.”
Everyone has had to make changes in order to keep moving forward this year. And we want to highlight all of the many great obstacles that this community has overcome. It is imperative that we take time to celebrate our successes and continue bringing the positivity and creativity necessary for progress.
With the pandemic rearing its ugly head and threatening our economic stability, Jennifer had to act quickly. “Instantly, I started the Our Community Cares campaign to keep as many business doors open as possible. We were able to assist six local businesses with rent. The desire to act for community shines bright and provides a strong bond.”
Being the Executive Director of the Chamber has given Jennifer plenty of opportunity to hear the stories of community members and to share in both their heartache and their successes. “I shared tears with three out of the three business owners we helped in keeping doors open with funds through Our Community Cares campaign. Another tear came when I learned the Chamber golf tournament had to be canceled this year; funds were going to be for Sunshine for Claire Pediatric Cancer Foundation and recipients of our Eagle Classic Scholarship. And to see a resident [of their assisted-living program charity] get the present they wished for, emotions flow on all ends.”
We are honored and grateful to be a part of such an incredible place with genuinely good souls. We want to extend a huge thank you to Jennifer, the Eagle Chamber, and all of the amazing business owners, neighbors, and friends that are always there to extend a hand of support.
