Summer Approaches

    By Kirk Walton

We’ve finally broken out of our cold snap, and as temperatures rise summer is fast approaching! As I’ve read through your stories these past few months, I am reminded of just how diverse and spectacular place Eagle is. Eagle is truly a hotbed for community action, and hardly anywhere else will you find residents so involved in the interests of one another. Each year, the summers in Eagle get better and better. As we approach this year’s summer season, I can’t help but get excited for popular activities like Eagle Fun Days.

Inside this issue, we’ve done our best to curate a selection of what makes Eagle great. Eagle has the benefit of being nestled between everything—from boating to biking to the city next door, Eagle is close to it all.

To keep you busy this summer, we’ve highlighted some recreational activities that Eagle is famous for. The beautiful foothills are bustling more than ever this season. In addition to the well-loved hiking and mountain biking trials, the Eagle Sports Complex is gearing up for a fantastic summer season. Here you’ll find daredevils, amateurs, and spectators alike enjoying Eagle’s latest successful community venture. In addition to the fantastic sports park, Eagle Fun Days is going to be bigger and better this year! Last but not least, stay tuned for information on a fantastic fireworks display the city will be putting on. All this and more is happening this summer in Eagle, and you’ll find more information inside.

In addition to all these wonderful summertime activities, we’ve highlighted some of the many interesting people Eagle has been known to offer. You’ll find the interesting stories of two world-class go-kart racers, some information on a new LEGO themed shop in town, as well as a beautiful story about two authors telling the long-lost story of Nellie, one of the first homesteaders in the area.

We hope you enjoy this showcase of our town. Eagle is filled with greatness, and if you’d like to share your stories with us don’t hesitate to contact us at: editor@eaglemagazine.com.

    Sincerely,

    Kirk Walton
