First Test of the School Year
The first test of the school year can be a tough reality check for both kids and parents. When my teenage daughter didn’t do as well as she’d hoped, it hit her confidence hard. As parents, we all want to see our kids succeed, but sometimes it’s clear they need a little extra help to get there. That’s where Mathnasium came into play for us.
“Getting my daughter on board with extra tutoring wasn’t easy,” says Tia Crabtree, Editor-in-Chief of Eagle Magazine. “As a teenager, she was resistant, insisting she could figure it out on her own. But I knew that embracing the help Mathnasium offers would set her up for success, not just in math, but in how she approaches challenges in life.”
Reward System in Math
On the other hand, Tia’s nine and ten-year-old boys couldn’t wait to go. “Mathnasium’s reward system, with points that can be traded for fun prizes like candy, made math fun and something they looked forward to. Their excitement was contagious, and before long, my daughter started to see the benefits too,” Tia shares.
The improvement in their grades was almost immediate, but the biggest change was in their self-esteem. “Seeing that they could overcome challenges with a little help was a powerful lesson, and it’s one they’re carrying with them beyond just math class,” Tia explains. “They’re more confident, more willing to tackle tough subjects, and they’re even starting to thank me for signing them up—something I never thought I’d hear from a teenager!”
Mathnasium has proven to be more than just a tutoring center
It’s a confidence builder, a game-changer, and a place where kids of all ages can learn to embrace the help they need to succeed.
