A Vision of Contemporary Rustic Elegance
Inspiring Project

Situated in the stunning landscape of Idaho, Woodstone at the Flats embodies a remarkable redefinition of communal gathering. The innovative owners, Steve and Bobbie Cooper, known for their cherished establishment Goodwood Barbecue, are embarking on an exciting new venture with this project. Their aspiration is to establish a destination that seamlessly integrates fine dining, community engagement, and the natural splendor of Idaho.
A Culinary Experience: The Essence of Woodstone
At the heart of “Woodstone at the Flats” will be two primary dining concepts: “The Woodstone, a welcoming eatery focused on breakfast, brunch, and lunch, designed to envelop guests in comforting flavors”. “An upscale extension of Goodwood Barbecue that honors its heritage while offering a sophisticated reinterpretation of beloved classics”.
The honors year in which we inaugurated Goodwood,” Bobbie remarked. “This establishment aims to reintroduce the beloved flavors and smoked meats that our guests cherish, albeit with a more sophisticated touch. Picture meticulously crafted cocktails, non-alcoholic selections for individuals embracing sober lifestyles, and dishes that seamlessly combine comfort with elegance.” The concept for these dining venues is both reminiscent and forward-thinking, showcasing the Coopers’ commitment to curating unforgettable experiences. Every aspect has been meticulously designed, from the culinary offerings to the atmosphere, ensuring that guests enjoy a sense of home while indulging in a touch of luxury.

Concept
The property serves as a testament to the Coopers’ dedication to blending their enthusiasm for hospitality with their affection for Idaho. Encompassing five acres, Woodstone at the Flats draws its inspiration from Magnolia Market in Waco, Texas. However, unlike Magnolia, which focuses on home goods, Woodstone is firmly rooted in the Coopers’ extensive experience in the restaurant sector and their wine label, One Stone Hill. “Magnolia greatly influenced our vision,” Bobbie stated. “We aimed to establish a space that embodies a similar sense of community and purpose, infused with our distinctive Idaho character.”
The grounds will host a variety of meticulously designed areas, each intended to promote social interaction. A **party barn-style pavilion** will serve as the focal point for events, accommodating corporate meetings, weddings, birthday parties, and even spirited line-dancing evenings. Surrounding the pavilion will be fire pits, a pond fed by a creek, and open areas for outdoor leisure. Seasonal markets will showcase local artisans, food vendors, and crafts, fostering a lively environment that celebrates the creativity of the community.

Building Community Through Connection
Central to Woodstone’s mission is the aspiration to cultivate connection and well-being. The Coopers envision the property as more than just a venue; it is a sanctuary for individuals to rediscover joy, forge relationships, and appreciate Idaho’s natural splendor. During and coming out of COVID, we recognized the deep yearning for connection among people,” Bobbie reflected. “We aspire for Woodstone to be a gathering place, whether for a yoga workshop, a team-building retreat, or simply sharing a meal with family and friends.” This philosophy draws inspiration from Arthur Brooks’ insights on happiness, which highlight the significance of family, friendships, meaningful work, and a bond with nature. To actualize this vision, the Coopers are integrating features that promote both relaxation and active engagement.
One of the most captivating aspects of Woodstone at the Flats will be its expansive garden, situated close to the primary dining areas. This garden will not only provide fresh, locally sourced ingredients but also serve as a serene environment for guests to explore. We strive to cultivate a relationship between individuals and their food, Bobbie expressed.. “There is something profoundly grounding about strolling through a garden, harvesting fresh produce, and understanding that it will soon be on your plate.”
Additionally, the garden will host various workshops and activities, enabling visitors to learn about sustainable agriculture, engage in harvests, and enhance their appreciation for Idaho’s agricultural legacy. This interactive approach underscores Woodstone’s dedication to community and well-being.
A Space for Every Occasion
The adaptability of Woodstone at the Flats stands out as one of its most impressive attributes. Whether you are organizing a wedding, facilitating a corporate retreat, or simply seeking a place to relax, the property caters to diverse needs. The Pavilion will serve as the centerpiece for larger gatherings, designed to accommodate everything from sophisticated receptions to casual birthday celebrations. In contrast, the fire pits distributed throughout the grounds offer a warm and inviting atmosphere for more personal gatherings. Guests can enjoy seasonal cocktails, savor small bites, and bask in the glow of the fire while surrounded by the natural beauty of Idaho.
The marketplace will also be a significant attraction, featuring a carefully curated assortment of local products and essentials. From Idaho-made items to branded merchandise such as Woodstone blankets, the market ensures that visitors have access to everything necessary for an unforgettable experience. “We envision the market as a treasure hunt,” Bobbie remarked. “Whether you are in search of a last-minute picnic blanket or a distinctive gift, there will always be something extraordinary to uncover.”
Generational Commitment and Devotion
For the Coopers, Woodstone at the Flats transcends a mere business endeavor; it embodies a family heritage. With their son Dillon now assuming the role of general manager, this initiative signifies a collective generational pursuit to craft something exceptional. “Dillon has put in tremendous effort to reach this point,” Bobbie expressed with pride. “Witnessing him embrace this position and contribute his own ideas has been remarkable.”

This familial spirit permeates the entire Woodstone team, who share the Coopers’ enthusiasm for hospitality and community engagement. Together, they are not merely establishing a venue; they are cultivating a “third place” that exists beyond the confines of work and home, where individuals can convene, connect, and feel a sense of belonging.
The design of Woodstone at the Flats harmoniously merges modern sophistication with rustic allure. Each aspect, from the architecture to the interior design, has been meticulously crafted to foster an environment that is both opulent and inviting. “Our goal is for Woodstone to function as a sanctuary,” Bobbie expressed. “It will be a place where one can don formal attire for a significant event or simply relax in a casual setting by the fire.”
This equilibrium is reflected in the property’s outdoor seating areas, which will feature breathtaking views, cozy furnishings, and thoughtful amenities such as heaters for cooler nights. Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of experiences, from live music to movie nights beneath the stars, fostering memories that will endure.
A Hub for Idaho Living
As construction progresses, the enthusiasm surrounding Woodstone at the Flats is unmistakable. For Bobbie and Steve Cooper, this venture is a heartfelt endeavor—a means to give back to the community that has supported them for over two decades. “I have not disclosed much about it thus far,” Bobbie admitted with a grin. “I want to envision it, bring it to life, and then share the celebration with everyone.”
Upon its completion, Woodstone at the Flats will exemplify the Coopers’ commitment to hospitality, community, and the distinctive allure of Idaho living. Featuring a combination of fine dining, wellness-oriented activities, and welcoming environments, it is set to become an unparalleled destination. For the Coopers, this journey is merely the beginning, yet their aspirations are well-defined: to establish a space where individuals can unite, commemorate life’s moments, and experience a sense of belonging.
